Recovery Guide

This guide walks you through each recovery method available in UndoDisk.

Quick Scan

Quick Scan reads file system metadata to find recently deleted files. It completes in seconds and is ideal when files were just deleted.

1. Select the drive or partition to scan
2. Click Quick Scan
3. Wait for the scan to complete
4. Browse recovered files and select which to restore

Deep Scan

Deep Scan performs a sector-by-sector analysis of the entire drive, using signature-based carving to recover files from formatted, corrupted, or overwritten drives.

1. Select the drive or partition to scan
2. Click Deep Scan
3. Wait for the full scan to complete (this may take longer depending on drive size)
4. Review results sorted by AI confidence score
5. Select files and choose a recovery destination

Recovery Vault

Recovery Vault proactively protects files by monitoring selected folders and preserving metadata for instant recovery.

1. Open Recovery Vault from the sidebar
2. Add folders you want to protect
3. When a file is deleted, open Recovery Vault to restore it instantly
