Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is UndoDisk?
UndoDisk is an AI-powered disk recovery tool that helps you recover deleted, corrupted, and lost files from NTFS, FAT, exFAT, and ext4 drives.
Is my data sent to the cloud?
No. All processing happens locally on your machine. Your files never leave your computer.
What operating systems are supported?
UndoDisk currently supports Windows 10 21H2 and later (x64 and ARM64). macOS and Linux support is planned.
Recovery
What file types can UndoDisk recover?
UndoDisk supports over 200 file types through signature-based carving, including documents, images, videos, archives, and more.
Can I recover files from a formatted drive?
Yes. Deep Scan performs sector-by-sector analysis and can recover files even after formatting.
How long does a scan take?
Quick Scan completes in seconds. Deep Scan duration depends on drive size — expect roughly 1–5 minutes per 100 GB.
What is the AI confidence score?
Each recovered file receives a 0–100% confidence score from UndoDisk’s on-device ML model, indicating how likely the file is to be fully intact.
Pricing & Licensing
Is UndoDisk free?
Scanning is always free. The free tier allows recovery of up to 500 MB. Paid plans unlock unlimited recovery.
Is it a subscription?
No. All paid plans are one-time payments — no recurring charges.
Can I use one license on multiple computers?
Yes. You can deactivate your license on one machine and activate it on another. 1-Month and 1-Year plans support 1 machine at a time. Lifetime plans support up to 3 machines simultaneously.
Troubleshooting
My scan found no files. What should I do?
Try running a Deep Scan instead of Quick Scan. If the drive has been heavily overwritten, recovery may be limited.
UndoDisk won’t open. What should I do?
Ensure you are running Windows 10 21H2 or later. Try running UndoDisk as administrator.
Where are recovered files saved?
You choose the recovery destination during the recovery process. We recommend saving to a different drive than the one being scanned.
